Our Story
OUR STORY
The Beginning
In the early 1980s, in the quiet village of Barhalioun in Northern Lebanon, our family placed its first beehives among the wild thyme and oak forests of the mountains. What began as a humble tradition passed from father to son has grown into a lifelong passion, a deep bond between our family, our land, and our bees.
Three generations later, we still tend our hives by hand, the same way our grandfather taught us. Every jar of Dany's Bees honey carries the story of our family and the terroir of our mountains.
Our Bees and Our Land
Barhalioun sits at an altitude where the Mediterranean climate meets the mountain air, creating a unique ecosystem rich in flora: wild thyme (zaatar), oak (sindian), hawthorn, citrus orchards, and endless meadows of wildflowers. Our bees forage freely across this diverse landscape, producing honey with a complexity and depth of flavor that can only come from this land.
The Northern Lebanon highlands are one of the most biodiverse regions in the Mediterranean basin. This richness translates directly into our honey. Each variety tells the story of the flowers the bees visited, the season, and the altitude.
Our Process
We believe great honey should be left alone. Our extraction process is simple and traditional: we harvest the frames by hand, spin them gently in a centrifuge, strain out the wax, and jar the honey. Nothing added, nothing removed. No heating, no ultra filtering, no blending with imported honey.
Every jar is 100% raw, unfiltered, and traceable to our own hives. You can taste the difference.
Our Promise
At Dany's Bees, the welfare of our bees always comes first. We never overharvest. We always leave enough honey for the colony to thrive through winter. We use no chemicals or antibiotics in our hives. Our beekeeping is sustainable, ethical, and rooted in respect for nature.
When you buy from us, you're not just getting honey. You're supporting a family tradition, a local ecosystem, and a way of life that has endured for generations.
"We take care of the bees, and the bees take care of us."
